My (now) fiancé and I got engaged at the Ashby Inn in February 2024! All of the staff made us and the experience feel so special. The chef's tasting menu dinner was the best meal either of us had ever had ... a really memorable lobster dish and duck entree in particular. We interacted most with the staff at the main office and in the restaurant, and everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful. Finally, the view from the room (we stayed in the Adams room) was incredible to wake up to ... we also were raving about the quality of the sheets and bath robes the whole time. We will definitely be coming back to celebrate anniversaries here, and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!

I just went to Ashby with my girlfriend for 2 days and the location was beautiful. I enjoyed going hiking and I thought the service was wonderful. The whole time I felt welcomed and right at home. The only issue that I really had was the prices on the dinner menu. We did not get dinner at Ashby because the average price of a meal was $70+ dollars for one person. Because of these jaw dropping prices, we went somewhere to eat about 30 minutes away. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and very filling. I would recommend this get away stay at Ashby to anyone who needs to get away and have a nice couple of days.

Extraordinary getaway weekend to the gorgeous Virginia countryside. Stayed in the schoolhouse and view was gorgeous. Room had a great fireplace and sizable bathroom. Restaurant dinners (are there two nights) was excellent as were the morning breakfasts which were included in the room price. Loved the staff in the restaurant and the office. Nearby towns offer great weekend browsing. Super place. We already booked for next year.

We enjoyed an early dinner here at the restaurant. The wine list is one of the best I’ve seen in the Metro area. Our server was pleasant and professional with excellent knowledge of food and wine. The terrace was situated beautifully overlooking the garden and mountainside. The food was superb and presentation spectacular. I highly recommend the restaurant for a special occasion or just for a respite in a rural setting. Thank you to everyone on the staff who made our visit enjoyable.

Husband surprised me with an overnight get away for my birthday at The Ashby Inn. We live 30 miles away but I felt a million miles from home. The Ashby Inn really is a hidden gem. Tranquil and relaxing with gracious and welcoming staff namely, ALYSSA, RUSTY & ZARA. Quaint Setting - Restaurant, Church, School House Guest Rooms, and Rolling Hills backdrop. We stayed in the Lafayette suite - loved the wood burning fireplace and in room digestif (for after dinner) was a very nice touch. Oh, and their guest room robes are divine - I'm purchasing 2 of them for us at home. *Lots of wonderful wineries close by to enjoy *Middleburg & Winchester, Virginia are towns close to The Ashby Inn.

The ambiance is very nice, and the food is well prepared. However, after having what I thought was a nice dinner, the next morning I was gravely ill. One would think a restaurant like the Ashby Inn would maintain better quality control over the ingredients in their cuisine. Sadly, this was not the case for me. My sister promptly canceled her reservation she had with a friend after she saw my condition. When she called to cancel, someone told her the General Manager would call, but she never received a calm from them. This was a very unpleasant experience for me. Hopefully it does not happen to many others.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ashby Inn. The location is in a beautiful, rural, retreat-like area of Virginia. Visiting in fall was the perfect choice, as it was gorgeously blanketed in yellows, reds, and oranges. We took a nice little sunrise walk to enjoy the colorful views. The service was excellent. We greatly enjoyed our breakfasts (highly recommend the French toast), and our room was very cozy and nicely decorated. The Ashby is a beautiful 15- to 20-minute drive to Middleburg. We appreciated being away from the bustle of Middleburg's busy main street, but easily within driving distance. I hope to be back next year!
